Tools for Grimdark OSR RPGs

OraKVLT is a sandbox grid-crawler add-on for dark fantasy role playing games with an emphasis on settlement-to-settlement travel and dungeon-to-dungeon delving. 

The toolkit was initially designed to facilitate solo-play of Mork Borg by Stockholm Kartel but it is well suited for use in a wide range of single- or multi-player games; a quest is a quest, and a settlement is a settlement! The game is mechanics-forward to serve as inspiration in the development of your own campaigns in bleak and barren landscapes.

The following table is a sample of the tables related to quest generation. The majority of OraKVLT content requires chucking a handful of dice in a tray.

1D4	Quest Type. The quest types consist of eliminating a target, escorting valuable targets, delivering information or items, and destroying items or structures.
1D6	Terms & Payment of/from completing quest objectives. For example, some quests may require capturing quarry alive for additional reward.
1D8	Details that reflect the struggles and viewpoints of the working class and noble.
1D10	Location of the quest relative to the number of settlements and settlement surroundings away.

The general design philosophy of the OraKVLT is to facilitate frequent dice rolling that still streamlines the interpretation of results for quick world and quest building.

Next Steps

The OraKVLT is quite minimal in regard to layout and graphic design. Expect future revisions to continue this general philosophy but still provide a visually appealing experience.
