Am I Doing This Right?

The primary purpose of writing this post is to solicit feedback on a few questions. I also hope to include some inclusions I have been making to the content of the OraKVLT.

1. I have decided to make the OraKVLT a standalone game. I know that the OraKVLT will never compete with the ampersand RPG, or any of your favorite OSRs. However, I wanted the casual reader to pick up the text and be able to interact with it without having to flip back to another source of mechanics.

- Is this is a silly decision? How should I best communicate what is part of the toolkit and what is tacked on to complete the experience?

2. The OraKVLT was always intended to have a minimal approach to content and layout.

- How important is artwork to the solo RPG experience? How important is a snazzy layout? Would a purely digital approach be preferable to a print one?

One of the additions to the text includes spells (to help the wizard class standalone). Another addition is a table of items that can begin to jog the imagination. Resulting from some feedback, I am greatly overhauling some random encounters to challenge players with various ability checks (although "I swing my axe" remains a perfectly viable solution).
